»Personality:Ryu is often lazy and relaxed never stressing and rarely getting angry or expressing hatred.He gives everyone the same amount of respect,understanding the different ranks but believes everyone should be treated the same.When in battle Ryu's relaxed personality gives him grace and skill,being one of the few things he takes completely serious,he seeks to end fights swiftly with as little confrontation necessary.

Swordplay & Smithing: Ryu enjoys refining his skills with his Zanpaktuo, hoping one day to be one of the top Swordmasters.When he is not practicing he is often making sketches or trying to forge weapons or other items,enjoying making them treasuring everyone of his creations.

Reading: Ryu enjoys reading all literature as it gives him a place to relax and think, and it often gives him a place for inspiration often getting ideas for his crafting from books.

Protecting the innocent: Ryu will always protect those that are truly innocent believing that it is a rare thing that is a true gift.He would do all he could to protect those that hold a true innocence.

Unnecessary Destruction: Ryu disapproves of the random destruction of anything from human life to buildings or nature.Believing that it's a horrible crime to end the life of something without reason, or to destroy the beauty of nature.

Death:He hates the thought of losing those he hold close to him and despises those that go out of their way to kill. It is one of the few things that cause him to show his emotions.

Losing: Ryu does not like to lose, when he loses he will train non-stop until he pushes past his limit, but even then he will not admit that it has upset him and will try his best to keep his relaxed state no matter how weary and tired he is.

»Appearance Description: Ryu has a appearance that could be picked out from a crowd, his height often making him hard to miss. He often wears wraps around his arm that come down to mid forearm, he also wears a necklace with a black chain and a ruby. His hair is normally disheveled and he holds a relaxed pose. The only thing about him that never seems to relax is his eyes, they are always calculating, scanning showing his true power in them no matter how he tries to hide it. The rumor that has been spread by those in the lower ranks is that when you stare into his eyes you will break,your mind will shatter under the sheer force of the stare, of course Ryu tries his hardest to put that rumor to rest he knows he could never stop it from being spread.

»Historical Information: Ryu was born the 16th of September, into the Uchiyama family, a higher nobility house. The only child of his parents he was intensely pressured to be the best he could. He had been trained since as far back as he could remember, learning how to use his skills. He was sheltered purposely by his parents, whose intentions were well but had made their child grow into a lonely soul. His sheltered life caused him many difficulties in his early life. When training he would often experience outbursts of emotions whether it be anger or sadness, due to the high fatigue and stress he was put through during the training. One specific outburst was reported back to his parents by their advisors, it was one of his more intense ones where he had completely broke down. Being the first time they had been told of his outbursts his parents thought he had acted out purposely and punished him severely for his behavior. After the punishment Ryu developed a resentment for his parents, not understanding why they took that course of action. Time passed and that resentment grew more, when Ryu was offered the chance to leave his home and live with a friend of his fathers he jumped at the chance to go,leaving his parents behind.

When he got to the family friends home he was welcomed with open arms, and introduced to man who had invited him, Yukako Kita. The man had invited Ryu to his home to offer him a place to make a place for himself, Yukako had heard of Ryu’s outburst from his parents and having had a child of his own wanted to help Ryu. The next day Ryu was met with a pleasant surprise he was allowed to relax, he didn't know what to do and wandered the grounds stumbling upon the library, the training grounds and his greatest discovery there..Yukako’s daughter, Asuna Kita. She was training in the courtyard and when Ryu saw her his stopped and couldn't look away, being one of the few he had ever seen most of which had been at a distance, she was to Ryu the most beautiful girl. She had long brown hair and piercing green eyes, he watched her movements as she trained the sunlight dancing off her porcelain skin. Ryu hypnotised by her skills said nothing as she stopped finally noticed him. She introduced herself and offered to show him around. As the months passed Ryu and Asuna became good friends and they trained and explored together. She taught Ryu how to relax and showed him his love for books and place where nothing mattered. Eventually Ryu festered up the courage to tell her how he felt and sadly she denied him, telling him that he was her closest friend and didn’t want that to change. Unlike before Ryu felt no reason to be angry and realized he had a true friend, he had finally gotten past his pain he had from an early age, and for that he was happy.A few weeks past and news had come that
Ryu's parents had been killed, no evidence was found to point to who committed bloodshed.

As Ryu got the news he vowed to make them proud, and carry out their mission or him. When the two children had gotten to a point of mastery Yukako sent them on a patrol. They took on a group of simple hollows, an easy task for the two. As Ryu finished off the last Hollow an attack came from the distance. Unaware of the attack Ryu was saved by Asuna who had pushed him out of the way,saving him and taking a portion of the blast. As the two recovered from the shock a Gillian Hollow appeared and attacked them. Ryu didn't know what the hollow was doing there, specifically by itself they commonly formed groups. In the confusion it lashed out again, this time successful. Ryu was pushed from where he lay and his scattered mind thought of one thought, Asuna, his eyes scanned the field and saw nothing fear building as the hollow approached he ran. Days later while grieving he swore he would never forget her, and always be in control of himself,never allowing for stupid mistakes like that again.

Through the process of his grieving and and promises he set off to rise the ranks and make amends for his faults. As time passed and he worked hard, never thinking about how long it took only about how he could better himself to avenge those he lost. Through his hard work he grew into the Captain of the 2nd division. Throughout his travels he learned many things and when he obtained his title he vowed he would continue on, to train and never forget the pain he had felt those years of his life.

»Your Sample: Your Sample: Ryu stood on the hill overlooking the field that lay below, the moonlight reflecting off his eyes. The scent of corpses and blood stung his nose. As the clouds passed over the moon the light grew brighter, allowing all the horror of the battlefield below him to be seen. Humans, what looked like a hundred, were scattered, dismembered. Bones lay broken and in piles, coated in blood and the organs of the people they were ripped from.
He walked from his perch and down amongst the bodies the foul stench getting worse with every step.He dreaded what he might find amongst the bodies, the thought sending his stomach reeling. He could never understand what could cause this much pointless destruction. As he walked he thought of all the lives ended at this spot, all the hopes and dreams that would never come true. How much pain they had in their dying breaths. All for nothing. It angered him, all of this was for nothing it was stupid and pointless, whoever or whatever did this would get punished for their foolishness.
As he walked back up the hill he saw a figure standing there. It waved and called to him "Captain, I believe we have located the beast" Ryu nodded and responded "Where? Take me to it, I must end it" the soldier nodded "This way" and began leading the way. Ryu followed, both figures moving at incredible speeds. As they moved Ryu could hear the sounds of combat getting ever closer, as the trees around him began to thin out the outskirts of the battle came into view.
Bodies littered the ground this time holding faces he recognized. His small group had started combat with several Gillian hollows which stayed grouped as they were attacked by the Shinigami. Some of which fell others were killed by the Gillians, as Ryu watched in horror he sensed a greater power in the center of the mass. He turned towards the one who had led him here "Where are the others? Had anyone called for reinforcements before we arrived?" the soldier turned and shook his head "there was not that many when they were discovered, I was mobilized to notify you and I have a fear there was no time to send others for back up." Ryu nodded slowly "Then I will have to try and contain this myself" he placed his hands on his Zanpakuto and locked his eyes directly into the center of the mass of fighting. He knew he had one shot at taking the Hollow on the inside by surprise. He took in a breath and steadied himself before practically disappearing, charging towards the monsters. He drew his Zanpakuto and drove it through several of the Gillians and bringing down on the Adjucha in the middle. The Hollow moved just soon enough so the blade cut through its arm severing it from its body. Ryu stared directly into the Adjucha and heard the small cheer from his soldiers as they watched him. Knowing he had increased their morale became increasingly confident until their cries were silenced and time seemed to stop, his eyes darted quickly around until it saw something that truly terrified him, Asuna Kita. As she approached him she slowly melted into a hollow form before coming close enough he could make out every little detail about her. She reached out to touch him but the world collapsed around him.
Ryu awoke in a cold sweat and was breathing heavily, his eyes darted around the room. His hand instinctively on his Zanpakuto as he sighed.
